Supersize Me

Last night we rented Supersize Me from Blockbuster.

To the disgust of his vegan girlfriend, and risking his own health and life, director Morgan Spurlock goes on an all-McDonald's diet for 30 days as an experiment to see how it will affect his health. Pretty stupid on his part, yet quite educational for the rest of us.

Even though I avoid fast food unless I have no other choice on a road trip, this film has fully convinced me never to eat McDonald's or at any other large chain fast food place again. I would recommend this to everyone, and don't skip the extras, especially the interview with Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation.

Hey Susiebadoozieqzee,

hmmm... I'm sure there are some different thoughts about that movie. Now you've got me curious. For me, it just reinforced the changes that I've already been making in my eating habits. Since I don't eat junk food anymore, things that I used to consider comfort food just don't taste good anymore, and make me feel horrible.

The little penguin guy was a doodle in one of my notebooks. I scanned him and colored him in Photoshop. Your pic of you and Dylan is just too cool. What does Dylan think about it?

Hi, I came here by way of Meow. I haven't seen this movie, I too stay away from fast food, everytime I have one simple cheese burger it's expand the waist time. I'll check this movie out, maybe just what I need to convince love one to avoid fast food. Thanks :)

It was a very good documentary. It didn't have to convince me about fast food, I already have avoided it for years. It is a very convincing argument for eating healthy.

I loved that documentary. After watching with my daughter we didn't eat Maccas for a few months!!

Jenn, look out for his one hour documentaries he does with his now wife. They are really excellent.

Susie, did your Dylie come home yet?

Skyblue2u, thanks for visiting! It was the interview in the extras of that movie that grossed me out about burgers more than the movie itself.

Seeker, great! I will have to drop by your blog. I haven't visited you in a while.

Michelle, A few months? Now you'll have to watch it again. Interesting, I didn't know about his other documentaries.

Oh Jenn they really are great. Look for the one where he and his wife decide to live for 3 months on America's lowest wage. It's amazing. His wife gets very sick and they can't afford the hospital bill, they live in some disgsting ghetto with no heating and it's in the middle of winter etc. It's very powerful.
