We covered an extensive list of modern design stores. It's important for George to stay on top of things so he can become very rich and famous one day.


The pouring rain drove us into this unexpected and wonderful Scandinavian cafe, AQ KAFE, on 1800 Broadway. Excellent cappuccino and cakes. They also had a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, definitely on our to-do list for next time.


No Shiba Inus allowed in here. I did a little research and discovered a Japanese grocery store, Katagiri. I got a bunch of Japanese goodies.

Check it out, I just finished this Dachshund Valentine's Day Card. Up to this point, I was only selling my designs on Cafepress, but now I'm putting them on Zazzle also. A cool thing about Zazzle greeting cards is that the customer can customize the inside greeting.

The funny little animal drawing is Skippy holding his "talk-to-me-treat-ball" which I am required to fill with treats twice a day or more.

Are they closed? I'm not sure.

What's left of my Christmas ornament after last night's Wii tennis game

Last night we were playing a mean game of Wii tennis when I accidentally whacked an ornament right off of our Christmas tree. It flew into the wall behind our TV set and shattered into a million pieces.

I wish I had that to watch again in slow motion. It was a direct hit.
The hook was still hanging on the tree.

I have weird dreams.

Last night I dreamed that our pastor's wife published a book of cartoons that she drew. The cartoons were hilarious, a lot like George Booth cartoons. It got excellent reviews, including one by Barbara Bush.

(As far as I know, our pastor's wife is not an artist, and Barbara Bush is not a cartoon critic). Now I wish I could remember what the cartoons looked like so I could draw them myself.

Well, the recession has now impacted us directly. If you haven't already heard, George lost his job in a mass lay-off.

We want to stay where we are, but it looks like that will not be an option.

I don't blog so much anymore. Instead I Twitter.

I've been spending my afternoons in Starbucks. Since we got wifi in here, I can finally enjoy my favorite coffee while I work. I like Panera for lunch, but I like Starbucks coffee better. But Panera makes great caramel lattes. If you get one, make sure to ask for a big mug.

I am using the internet in Starbucks for the first time! They have a new thing with AT&T. Just buy a gift card to use for your coffee purchases, and you get 2 hours a day of free WiFi. They made me happy.

I found this scarf on the ground in Yosemite National Park. I took it home and washed it, and kept it for myself. If it's yours, you can have it back, really, just let me know and you can have it.
