I got married in 1996. My husband, George, has some very unusual eating habits which early on I learned to accept. His anchovies, sardines, and other miscellaneous canned fish I can attribute to him being born and raised in the former Soviet republic of Georgia... eating ketchup on pizza, well, I don't know where that came from.
Here is one habit George has that I think could actually be marketable. Before toasting his bagels in the toaster oven, he carefully picks out all of the inside, so it comes out all crispy and toasty, inside and out. Then he fills up the inside with cream cheese, or hummus... or any number of things.
I think people would buy these, except we would need to invent a machine that makes bagels without centers so George wouldn't have to be a one-man bagel picking factory.

Maybe you should get George to write a cookbook, you can do the illustrations!
Mmmm George has a great idea with the bagels :o)
Yum, I would like a bagel like that! How did you and George meet? I love to hear how couples met ... do a post on it. PLEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!
Michelle, that would be a really "interesting" cookbook if I include all of his other mixtures of things.
Barbara, we met in college as freshmen. We were in the same drawing classes. It is very weird to think of us back then, because we were such different people than we are now. Doing a post on it could be interesting... I even have some doodles of us back then.
susiebadoozie, George will not eat the squishy part of any bread, crust only. He doodles cars and karate men. He's an industrial designer for his job, so that requires some more serious doodling, mostly on computer though.
I'm going to try that with my next bagel. Too bad I didn't read this 15 minutes earlier... I just ate the last bagel in the house.
Mmmm, sounds yummy. I would also eat all the soft part of the babel ... that's the best bit !!
Hope all is well.
Take care, Meow
Ooop, that would be bagel, not babel !!
seeker, sorry, I should have posted that earlier just for you.
Meow, It looks good, but I've never tried it myself. I like every part of the babel. :}
so what does he do with the squishy part?? i bet it would toast nicely too and he could have crunchies for his eggs.
AJ, George considers the squishy part unfit for human consumption, and he picks it right into the trash.
