Did you know?

Did you know that you can help homeless animals by donating used cell phones and ink cartridges?

I read about this at my vet's office. I brought in an old cell phone, and there is a place that will give money to help needy animals in exchange for it.

I googled this to see if I could find out who's doing this, and there's everything from dog rescue to save the African Gorillas. So if you go online, you can take your pick.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for my Grandpa's surgery and recovery. Thank God it went great. It ended up being a quadruple bypass. He got out yesterday. He can already drive and go back to work at his shop, back to all the things he loves to do, he's just not allowed to swim or get into a car accident (those sensitive stitches!).

What a great idea, i wonder if they do the same thing here?
When my grandmother had a quadruple bypass, we were all very worried. The surgeon tried to make light of the situation, telling us that, that kind of surgery is so common place these days, and we should be more concerned if she was having her tonsils out!!

Love that picture - the "brick" phone was the first one I had.

So happy to hear everything went well with your Grandpa!

Michelle, no kidding, having tonsils out sure has become more rare!

Fred, wow, you were one of the few first cell phone owners... those elite rich, driving around talking on your fancy phones...

Susie, the phone I donated is about five years old. I actually have another one just like it that I still use. George is very embarassed when I pull it out in public. I need to get a new one. I have no idea how they make money with that stuff. That is a very good question.

You mean there's a better cause then giving all the old cell phones to my daughter? Well, whoda! She's been collecting our old phones for years now. She's got at least three in plain view from her door as I type. And to think we could be helping a poor little scruffy dog!

Glad your grampa's doing alright!
