Maybe it's the final resting place of a beloved pet?
Whatever it is, I find it interesting that they chose to bury it facing the road, instead of in the backyard somewhere.
Maybe it is a historical marker, marking a historic battle for the land or something......i am really tring hard to think of other reasons here. that is just morbid.
very intersting. maybe it's thier way of meeting the neighbors, after they stop in and ask what it's all about.
