This morning I discovered this thing growing in my lawn. It kind of looks like a brain, or something from outer space. It turned out to be a giant mushroom, but at first I was I was scared to poke it, fearing some spiders or flying insects would come out of it and attack me.
My shoe is there for size comparison (size 8).

It does look like a brain. That is very frightening. Too bad it is poisonous other wise you could make a huge mushroom dish with that.
Oh good. I'm glad that it solved your problem for you. That is a CREEPY looking thing. It's a MUSHROOM? At least it has it's own built-in warning system: Don't Eat Me.

There was actually a guy in our area that found some mushroom in his yard and ate it, and it killed him. It turned out to have a name like "the killer mushroom of death," or some such thing.
Wow...okay...so don't eat that one!
