i chew hi chew

This past weekend my brother and his wife were here, visiting from Michigan.

We all drove up to Toronto and saw my Japanese friends, who were there for a wedding. Did you know they close everything on Labor Day in Canada? No Labor Day sales. We were going to stop at IKEA but it was closed. Even grocery stores are closed on Labor Day.

My friend's parents brought me this delicious HI-CHEW, (the best candy!), all the way from Japan.

Glad you had some R & R!

I have heard that Japanese candy is very good however, their chocolate is to be desired? Do you find that to be true?

I'm not sure if I have tried Japanese chocolate, although I know that they prefer things a lot less sweet there. When I was there in 1993 they were advertising Japanese M&M's, and the main sales pitch was that they are not as sweet as regular M&Ms.

Mmmmm. Have you ever noticed that Canadians have a lot of the same three day weekends that we do - but they celebrate different holidays?

As someone who has tried both American And Japanese chocolate, Australia has nothing to be concerned about!! Can't beat Cadbury's :o) Ok actually you can...Lindt :o)

Sounds as though you had a great weekend catching up with family and friends :o)

Marci, it is my favorite. (If you didn't notice already. ha ha ha).

layla, I have noticed some of those holidays. I don't know if labor day is called something else there.

Michelle, You reminded me of the Lindt store we had where we used to live. There were a lot of tasty treats in there.

AJ, Ask Jory San to send you some of the special Hi-Chew flavors. There is a rootbeer flavor that tasts just like real rootbeer, also cantaloupe, grapefruit, and more. They are great at making the flavors taste real.
