what is art?

While we were in Manhattan last Saturday, we went to the Guggenheim Museum.

The Kandinsky collection was very nice. It inspired me to doodle more.

The Jackson Pollock collection, in my opinion, left much to be desired. If you click on the Jackson Pollock link, you can see his familiar style. It's fun to look at. Most of it on display though, was just horrendous.

You could find some more appealing art parked on the side of the street...

I have never been a Pollock fan. I tend to be very fussy with the art i enjoy. I'd love to go to that Museum :o)

Well the art on the street seems more level with my abilities. I am not a Pollock fan either. I would still really like to go to the Guggenheim though.

OHHHHHH You saw Kandinsky's paintings. They must have been amazing. I'm so jealous. I LOVE his work. I'm not a Pollack fan, but Kandinsky? I could stand at his painting for hours.

Possibly, you too....I hear you are partial to Russians. hehe.

I like your cartoons better than anything I'd see in a museum.

I think art is a very individual thing ... what one person likes, another may not. Personally, I think your cartoons are wonderful ... you are an artist, and be proud of it.
Have a great weekend.
Take care, Meow

Yeah, Pollack never impressed me. A classic case of The Emperor's New Clothes, IMHO.

Art is that post that is left on a blog for days because someone decides to go AWOL without a mere peep (translation: WE MISS YOU!!)
