Freaks and Geeks
I love this show! Freaks and Geeks ran for one measley season in 1999 on NBC. I searched the internet in disbelief that this masterpiece of television could be over. There I found a large gathering of people like myself, all petitioning to get this show on DVD.
from Amazon.com:
Over 35,000 fans have demanded it, and so it has come. That’s how many rabid "Freaks and Geeks" fans have signed a petition via the Internet to plead for its release on DVD. "Freaks and Geeks," the Emmy® award-winning series about the trials and tribulations of high school outsiders in 1980 Michigan is finally coming out on DVD in its original form, with all the original music. And believe us – clearing over 130 music cues from the likes of The Who, Billy Joel, Bob Seger and their peers was no easy task.
"Freaks and Geeks" ran for only one television season, but arguably remains the most sought-after series yet to be released on DVD. Just 18 episodes were made, but its legend has exploded over time. Cast members have gone on to stardom, articles have continued to be written, internet activity abounds. Shout! Factory celebrates this incredible television series with the passionate treatment it deserves.
This series was worth every penny. We watch it over and over. Check Amazon.com to see 206 reviews, all five star!!!!

I vaguely remember hearing of this. But, I rarely watch TV so it must've gone under the radar. For instance, I never saw one episode of Sex and the City, despite the fact that The Other Half was a close childhood friend of Sarah Jessica Parker's...
If you buy this show you will not be disappointed :)
I'm surprised how many people never saw it.
Hopefully it will be at Blockbuster to rent. I got hooked on CSI by renting the series last summer. I got sucked in and watched them non-stop for two weeks. I even dreamed about them. I hope I don't have geek dreams if I watch this series. :o)
heehee
I've never seen it at Blockbuster, but they should get it! There's a lot of good stuff Blockbuster does not have.
I liked that show.
I finally figured out just this year that Sam on ER is the girl from Freaks and Geeks.
susie are you suggesting that i use my breath to get something i want? or are you speaking to jen?
I LOVE "Freaks and Geeks." Just the other day I discovered another person who was familiar with it. It's like a small cult following, I think. Thanks for signing my blog, Jenn. I don't know if you stumbled on my blog randomly or if we have a mutual friend. I'd love to know!
Suzanne, My husband worked at camp with Andrew Romanov. I found you on Sarah's blog. I was so excited to get Freaks and Geeks on DVD. I don't think it's on any channel anymore. We show it to friends who've never seen it all the time, and everyone just loves it.
Never even heard of that show. Not surprising I guess.
Am actually considering throwing out the TV. It takes up way too much time...
Nerdine, I watch less TV now that this blog has become my new distraction. I had no idea how addicting this would become when I started this. And I had no idea how much I'd be learning about myself and other people. This is much more enriching than TV.
I agree - It's way better than TV - and much more time consuming!
Luckily I don't have a computer with internetconnection at home... yet.. I ordered the line today. So I'll be blogging in no time from home too I guess..
